The beach is one of my happy places; open sky, fresh air, waves tumbling in, and sand on my feet. I breathe deeper when I see the vastness and space, and my heart opens. Everything falls away; nothing else exists.
I feel a spaciousness and lightness in my being. Whether watching the waves or swimming, the rhythm and energy of the water calm my nervous system and set my soul free.
I believe there’s a connection between our souls and the fluidity of the water.
As human beings, we are made up of mostly water. We began in our mother’s womb surrounded and nourished by fluid for nine months, and when we were born, our souls were pure consciousness - fluid, spacious, free like a flowing river.
So, it makes sense why so many people, including myself, find comfort and connection when we are surrounded by water and the vastness of the horizon.
It feels like we are coming home to ourselves.
We are remembering our True Nature.
From a very young age, our souls have become structured, and we become conditioned.
We take on beliefs and ideals and have life experiences that impact how we react and see ourselves, others, and the world.
We carry all of these things within us, and the fluidity we once had is lost.
We become disconnected from our true nature and suffer as a result.
We might get irritated or frustrated at ourselves, others, and life. We may feel heavy in our bodies or our minds.
It’s like everywhere we go, whatever we do, we are carrying this heavy luggage of our past around as adults.
Sometimes it can feel like we don’t have space to breathe. We don’t have room to feel.
All of this conditioning obstructs and blocks our natural flow and rhythm.
Our souls long to reawaken to our true essence. To release some of this baggage and be free.
To travel light.
How do we do this?
We get curious about our beliefs, reactivity, behaviours, or habits.
We let go of trying to fix anything; we have a willingness to explore what’s inside.
When we have the willingness to be here now, transformation happens.
We create more space by releasing what no longer serves us and begin to feel lighter in our minds and bodies.
We feel whole. We feel enough. We trust in ourselves and feel supported by the Universe.
This is coming from within.
This is coming home.
Love heals. Compassion heals.
We become more connected to the Oneness of our true nature as feelings of separateness fall away more and more, and we begin to feel more in the flow of ourselves and our lives, traveling light on our journey.
With loving kindness,
Diane
