Much is going on in the world, and like many of you, as an empath, I am aware of the energy of the collective consciousness. This past week, I have experienced moments of sadness and unsettled energy in my body.
Emotions are energy-in-motion.
When feelings arise, I breathe into them. I observe and support the emotions rather than attempting to identify, label, or push them away. I also envision surrounding the world with love and compassion, like a big, warm hug.
When I approach my emotions in this manner, I am honouring myself and my feelings. There is no judgment, only love. As a result, I am left with a peaceful, content feeling, and a deeper connection to Self.
Essentially what I am doing is pausing and creating space for the emotion to be what it is in its fullest expression. When there is space, there is awareness. When there is awareness there is support being shone on the darkness.
When we observe our feelings, they move through us - in their own time frame, not ours.
Emotions come and go, and when we can be present and observe them, we can connect to our essence, feeling grounded and safe as the energy moves through our bodies.
Alternatively, we lose touch with our true nature when we judge or push the feelings away. We feel untethered and disconnected, making it impossible to be present.
But all is not lost.
When we become aware that we are caught up in feelings, we can guide ourselves back to the present moment and trust the experience while staying connected to our truth.
Being the observer is where our freedom lies.
When we are the observer, we are not the emotion. Our soul's consciousness is aware of the feeling.
So we practice one moment at a time.
We return to home again, again, and again. This is the journey.
We can’t control what our next emotion is going to be.
We can’t control what is going to happen in the world.
This can be upsetting and scary, and we live in a society so invested in being comfortable that many people believe it’s not okay to feel fear or any emotion that’s not happiness.
So, when uncomfortable feelings arise, we distract ourselves by keeping busy, buying more, working more, and overindulging. Many of us have bodies stuck in fight or flight. In this state, fear holds all the power.
I’m saying this as someone who ran from myself, my emotions, and my life for a long time. I know what it feels like. The truth? There is no freedom in running.
It wasn’t until I finally stopped running from fear that things started to shift and change. Was it easy? No. Leaving your comfort zone is hard. But it’s worth it.
Working with my body and the subconscious mind to heal, let go of anxiety and fear, and feel safe has been my greatest gift to myself.
To feel safe in my body and the world is freedom.
To pause and support my feelings has been the doorway.
If you are:
· Afraid of fear or other feelings
· Afraid of the future, be it money, health, relationships
· Afraid of the world affairs, inflation, climate change, uncertainty
· Afraid of making a change even though you know it’s in your best interest
Can you pause, even for a moment, and take a breath into the feelings?
Can you create space to let your feelings know they are being supported?
This is how change happens. One simple choice at a time.
I want to offer you my help and support. More than ever, we must stay grounded in the now, our body, and our essence.
I feel like it's important for us to come together - to support ourselves, to feel supported, and to shine light and love on the world.
I will be offering online sessions called Tapping into Peace. We will be experiencing the power of Tapping (EFT) along with a guided meditation.
EFT/Tapping is the most effective tool I have yet to use to release emotions, take the body out of fight or flight, and feel calm, grounded, and connected to essence.
Tapping is a practical and invaluable tool to have in your toolbox. Please get in touch with me if you are interested in learning more about group or private sessions.
Sending blessings of peace and comfort to all,
Diane
