As I watch the trees change colour, and the leaves fall effortlessly, I think about how much beauty there is in this ever-changing flow of life.
There’s no resistance as nature flows with the Divine, with its cycles and changes, trusting and allowing things to be as they are.
Can we learn to honour the same flow in our own lives?
More change.
More allowing.
Last week, I mentioned how I am noticing myself trusting more in ‘not knowing’ and also the belief in my heart that everything is happening for me, not to me.
How do we lean into this?
With a consistent mindfulness practice.
Practicing being present, grounded, curious, and aware. Creating space for feelings. Being awake to this moment. Meditating. Witnessing thoughts as they come and go. Taking time to reflect. All of it.
When I am more present daily, I can hear, feel and honour the wisdom within me.
This willingness to explore increases my capacity to trust in myself and life, helping to guide me on when to take action and when to simply be.
I read a quote from Marianne Williamson that landed in my heart.
“The spiritual life is not where you are making things happen, the spiritual life is where you’re allowing everything to happen.”
Letting go of the reins isn’t always easy.
There might be a big part of us that wants and feels the need to be in control. We try to make sure things happen just the way we have it all planned out.
Here’s the problem.
When trying to control things, we are living in the future. We are worried about what might or might not happen. In this place, the ego is in control.
Meanwhile, there is this miraculous Universe ready to support us. Still, we’re too preoccupied trying to control or plan how it should look that we’re missing glorious opportunities.
Take a moment and ask yourself,
Am I trying to control things out of love or fear?
What would happen if I dared to trust, even if it felt uncomfortable?
What if I started to live life in love rather than fear?
The Universe has a plan, but we must pause and be still long enough to connect to it. When we are busy, rushing around all day, we are not grounded in our essence. It’s essential to slow down, pause, and stay in the body, just noticing and allowing the ‘not knowing.’
The more present we are, the more connected we are to our true essence.
If you don’t feel safe allowing or sitting in the not knowing, notice the part that doesn’t feel safe.
What does it feel like?
What is it saying?
It’s not wrong or bad. It’s your experience. It’s real.
We are never trying to get rid of a feeling or fix something. Doing so keeps us stuck.
Instead, we are noticing, observing more objectively and curiously, and supporting the part that feels this way.
The beauty of our mindfulness practice is when we embrace all of ourselves with love and compassion, and we truly start living.
This is living a life connected to our true essence, when we stop, let go of the reins and trust.
Have a wonderful week!
