I just returned from a remarkable women's retreat I hosted in Sedona, Arizona. It proved to be an enriching and transformative experience on so many levels, and I would love to share about it!
The awe-inspiring beauty of Sedona, coupled with the energy of majestic Red Rock mountains, created an ideal setting that enveloped us in warmth and support. It felt as though our paths were meant to come together for this extraordinary journey.
Our retreat commenced in a sacred circle, where we shared our values and intentions. This created a safe space for each woman to feel, be seen, heard, supported, and honoured for her unique journey.
It was an adventure! We enjoyed hiking, yoga, meditation, visiting sacred sites, and delicious, nourishing meals prepared lovingly by my sister Deb. We also had lots of time to relax and be.
Our hikes in Sedona were breathtaking. Our guide, Rahelio, shared his wisdom about the land's spirituality and his insights on the current shift in consciousness worldwide. One of the highlights was his teachings about the medicine wheel - a meaningful experience for everyone.
Our accommodations were nothing short of an oasis. Everywhere we turned, there was something special to see. The beauty and intention of our surroundings allowed us to fully relax and feel so incredibly nurtured.
The retreat was filled with harmony, ease, and flow as if the Universe guided our collective experience.
As I write and share my experiences with you, I feel my heart as it continues to open. I am very touched by it all.
This retreat reaffirmed my belief that our souls yearn for meaningful connections—with ourselves and others—and highlighted the power of gathering in safe spaces to share our authentic selves.
As humans, we are inherently wired for connection; we seek belonging and a sense of being part of something greater than ourselves. Together, sharing these experiences with one another, we formed deep connections in a short period of time.
What became evident is intimacy is not determined by the length of time spent with someone; we may know someone for years without truly understanding them. True intimacy flourishes when we are willing to be authentic and share from our hearts—shedding the masks that many of us wear daily to reveal our true selves.
Dr. Brené Brown articulates this beautifully:
"I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship."
The women expressed surprise at how comfortable they felt being themselves—it was such a relief to relax fully into their authenticity.
In safe spaces filled with like-minded individuals, barriers naturally dissolve.
Ultimately, what matters most is not what we do for a living, what we have, or how we appear; rather, it is our shared humanity—our feelings, experiences, and stories—that binds us together more than we realize.
When we take time for ourselves to simply be, we reconnect with our true essence—a remembrance of who we truly are. Each woman in our circle brought her unique energy, showcasing the incredible diversity of the Divine.
On our last evening together, we gathered in a Kiva—a sacred space traditionally used by indigenous peoples—under the new moon to share what we wished to release from our lives and what we were ready to welcome. Each woman's truth resonated deeply as we listened with love while chanting, "And so it is." The Divine feminine energy was tangible and so moving.
The transformations I witnessed were profound; I, too, have been transformed by this experience. I am grateful for having shared this time with such incredible women and for the grace that encircled us throughout.
For those seeking relaxation, connection, adventure, and spirituality to soothe your souls, consider joining my next Sedona retreat in September 2025. There are still a few spots available! Contact me.
After this experience and returning home, I am reflecting on the state of our world. There is so much fear, division and destruction.
I wonder what would happen if one person at a time remembered their divinity, expressed themselves authentically and felt loved and supported by those around them?
While we didn't solve the world affairs in Sedona, I do believe every time people gather together with the intention of peace, love, and connection, a ripple is sent out into the world and is felt by all sentient beings.
May you feel this ripple.
With love,
Diane
