Mindful Monday: When someone takes YOUR parking spot!

I know this is a VERY deep topic today and something we can all relate to.

When someone takes YOUR parking spot!

It happened to me on Black Friday. I went to the mall. (I forgot it was Black Friday. Oops!) and the parking lot was packed. I kept circling around to find a spot and finally I found one. So I put my blinker on and I waited (it felt like forever) until the person pulled out.

Mindful Monday: Out of 16 waking hours how often are you fully present?

Ok - I have a question for you...

Out of 16 waking hours how much of that time are you fully present?
a couple of hours, a couple of minutes

When you wake up in the morning, are you present as you start your day?  Having a shower, eating, getting dressed?

Or is your mind already at work, and a mental checklist is running through your head telling you all of the things you have to do.

Mindful Monday: This is what I learned from a 6 year old....

I recently bought a painting. The artist picked it out just for me and I absolutely love it. It's called 'Super Star' and everytime I look at it it makes me smile.

Who's the artist? My great-niece Annie.

Annie is 6 years old and she took it upon herself to organize her own art show to raise money for a children's hospital. Pretty incredible, right?!

Mindful Monday: Are you addicted to being busy?

We live in a funny world. It seems everywhere you go people are telling each other how busy and stressed out they are.

Mindful Monday: What area of your life are you tolerating?

I don't know about you, but I love this time of year. While all seasons offer their own beauty, there’s something magical about Fall.

I take a walk almost every day along the river. The colours, the air, the beauty - it is so peaceful.  For me, spending time in nature is a great way to relax and be in the moment.

Mindful Monday: I learned this from my coach...

I don't know about you, but I have spent years over complicating everything. Now...I'm way more interested in keeping things simple.

So of course I want to share this with you!

Neuroscience has now proven that practicing mindfulness changes the structure of your brain. That's pretty amazing, don't you think?!

How does this change happen? By making one simple choice at a time.

Mindful Monday: Thoughts aren't the problem. Thinking is.

Would you say your mind has a lot of thoughts?

Well, the average person thinks 60-80,000 thoughts a day! That’s a lot of thinking. No wonder most people are rarely present in the moment.

This is the deal…

Thoughts aren’t the problem, thinking is.

Mindful Monday: Have anxiety? You’re not alone.

Do you ever have anxiety or know someone who does?

I sure do. Anxiety is on the rise.

For years I had anxiety and it was all-consuming. My mind was going non-stop, and it was constantly worried about when my next anxiety attack was going to be. This worry and obsession with my anxiety created MORE anxiety in the body. It became a vicious cycle and it was so frustrating!

Things began to change when I started to meditate.

Mindful Monday: Is life fun or REALLY serious?

I've been wondering lately....where did all the fun go??

We live in a society that all too often associates being a responsible grown up with being super serious and not very fun.

As a result, a lot of times we take ourselves and life WAY too seriously.
We laugh less.
We have fun less.
And we stress more.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Mindful Monday: Are you connected to your body? Try this.

Here's some food for thought on Monday morning...
Our bodies like to be acknowledged just like you and me.

But a lot of times, our bodies are in one place and our minds are somewhere else.

We don’t tune into the body unless we are experiencing pain or discomfort.
